Regardless of what endeavor of fitness you pursue, when you first start training it’s very likely that your first goal is to be among the best in whatever place you train. Whether you want to be the fittest, leanest, strongest, or biggest, to be a standard bearer in your hometown is something most of us aspire to. So it’s likely your motivation is very high and you put pressure on yourself to give all you have to give that day.
Take that and multiply it by 100 and you have a rough idea of what’s it like to train for the CrossFit Games. These athletes aren’t training only to be the best in their towns. They’re training to be the best in the world. So you can imagine that every rep, step, and calorie is of the utmost importance.
