CrossFit has included triple unders in workouts before, most notably in February 2014 with a 7 minute AMRAP of 5 triple unders and 3 thrusters at 185:
Triple unders don't often show up in competitions, and it'll be interesting to see how they're utilized in the final event at the Cascade Classic. Only the best of the best will take on the final event and with a skill like triple unders rearing its head, it's possible some of those athletes aren't prepared for it.
I'd love to see triple unders show up in a workout similar to the Rope Chipper at the 2016 CrossFit Games, where it's hanging out between several other movements in the middle of a chipper. They would also be interesting as a buy-in for the final event, where they can serve as a barrier for entry for athletes who aren't ready.
The 2016 Cascade Classic will be LIVE on FloElite this weekend, starting Saturday at 10AM CT.
