Crush Games Preview: Games Athletes Ready To Crush
The 2015 Crush Games are right around the corner and we've got you covered with a livestream of all the action. So what can you expect from this year's rad event? Let's break down the format of the event and who you can expect to watch:
Compete, Qualify, Crush
The Crush Games are technically a three day event, but no one will actually be competing all three days. The event is designed with an in person qualifier on Friday and Saturday where the athletes are working towards qualifying for the real competition which is on Sunday.
At the end of the day on Saturday, everyone from Friday and Saturday's qualifying events will be pooled together and ranked and the top will be invited to compete on Sunday.
There are advantages and disadvantages for athletes attempting to qualify on either day. If you're hitting the qualifier events on Friday, you get a rest day between qualifying and competing. If you're attempting to qualifyin on Saturday you can watch and learn the Friday competitors to tighten up your strategy and also have specific targets in mind when hitting the workouts.
So who can you expect to see at the Crush Games this year? Here's a short list of just some of the big names competing:
Ron Ortiz
Brandon Phillips
Shawn Ramirez
Jeff Evans
Will Moorad
Andrew Rape
Natalie Newhart
Nicole Capruso
Jenn Jones
Brooke Wells
Lauren Truszkowski
Oh ya know...just a bunch of badass CrossFit Games athletes and CrossFit Games Masters Champs! Make sure to tune in this weekend starting Friday and going all through Sunday for all the action!
