The talk amongst Team USA last week was the quick turnaround from Nationals in May to Senior Pan Ams in June. All, but one athlete finished with numbers lower than the month before at Nationals. However, when the team received news that Norik Vardanian would not be competing, and Alex Lee did not take his clean-and-jerks, the remaining six needed to total in order for the US to earn an Olympic spot. That being said, numbers were understandably more conservative.

Most of the women finished with numbers higher than they did at Nationals. With the women's Olympic spots already secure, there was less pressure on the women to total any certain way. However, the US women didn't mess around, and brought home 2nd place from Senior Pan Ams.
