The 2016 Crush Games are in Miami this weekend, and everyone loves a good ass-kicking workout.

Here are the four toughest events in Crush Games history.

“Inversion” + “Harry Parker” from 2014

“Inversion”

For time complete:

12-9-6
Strict Handstand Push-ups
8-6-4 Snatch Complex (155/103)

At the 7-minute mark:

“Harry Parker”

Row max distance in 3 minutes

While these were two separately scored events at the 2014 Crush Games, I’m going to consider them one event for the sake of this article. In seven minutes, the athletes had to complete 12-9-6 strict hspu along with 8-6-4 reps of the snatch complex, which consisted of 1 snatch anyhow + 1 hang snatch anyhow.

If that’s not enough to make your lungs burn and shoulders fatigue, at the seven-minute mark the athletes start with a three-minute row for max distance, which is just enough time to really put the pedal the metal and crush yourself if you’re willing to go there.

“2012 Throwback” from 2014

For time complete:

5-4-3-2-1 Rope Climbs 15’
2-4-6-8-10 Front Squats (225/143)

Thirty front squats at 225/143 are no joke on their own, but they take on a whole new meaning when you combine them with a lat, core, and grip burner like rope climbs. On top of that, the first rope climb of each set had to be legless.

“Bracket 2” from 2013

Men’s version

8-6-4 Muscle Ups
21-15-9 Deadlifts (295)

Women’s version

15-9-7 Chest to Bar Pull Ups
21-15-9 Deadlifts (205)

While the men’s and women’s versions vary a bit, the idea here is the same: pull, pull, and pull some more. Going unbroken isn’t just expected, it’s necessary here and that means athletes will push the pace through each of these movements.

“Skullcandy” from 2015

For time:
21 deadlifts (245/143)
15 cleans
10 front squats
3 clean & jerks

A barbell complex from hell, “Skullcandy” is one of those workouts which really shows off how strong and fit athletes have gotten in the past few years. Just five or six years ago, a 245lb clean-and-jerk was good enough to send you to regionals. Yet, at the 2015 Crush Games athletes were expected to hit not one but three clean-and-jerks at 245lb after smoking their grip, back, core, legs, and shoulders.

Just like the previous events, the 2016 Crush Games will make the athletes step up their games and the only way to watch the action is on FloElite LIVE.
