Breaking: Dan Bailey Out Of The 2018 Games Season
CrossFit Games veteran Dan Bailey is out of the 2018 CrossFit Games season due to a knee injury.
For the third year in a row, we're going to miss Dan Bailey at the CrossFit Games.
After missing qualifying for the 2016 CrossFit Games and dropping out of Regionals with a pec injury in 2017, five-time top-10 finisher at the Games Dan Bailey is out of the 2018 Games season with a knee injury.
Dan Bailey has won the CrossFit Games Open before in 2011 and consistently places incredibly high at the Games. Along with Scott Panchik, he's probably the best athlete to never make the podium.
While on the Update Show, Bailey mentioned that he's had an injury prone offseason this year, but still has a strong mindset of trying after failing for two seasons in a row.
While he makes it clear he was planning on competing in this video posted just a couple days ago, it seems his injuries just caught up to him. Hopefully, he can get healthy and stay healthy.
Bailey's absence will open up more space for athletes at the already incredibly stacked Central Regional, but even with a bombshell like this, Central will be a bloodbath with razor-thin margins of error for athletes.
