China's Xiang Yanmei delivered the goods, coming in as the favorite and taking gold. Zhaparrkul (KAZ) also did just as well as we expected, taking second place. Bronze was a much closer battle between Leidy Solis (COL) and Sara Ahmed (EGY), and in the end it was Ahmed's consistency which locked up her first Olympic medal at 18 years of age.
