Tia-Clair Toomey Makes A Splash In Event #4

The Australian, along with Jonne Koski, took event wins in the Ocean Swim. They finished the 500m swim in 7:28:23 and 6:54:85.

Toomey had been sitting in third place going into the day, her event win pushes her into first place. Koski was in need of an event win, after 24th, 35th, and 40th place finishes yesterday he sat at the bottom of the leaderboard going into today. His win pushes him into 29th place.

All 80 athletes sprinted through the sand into the water, but from there it was difficult to make out any specific leaders. Jonne Koski, Khan Porter, Brent Fikowski, Rasmus Andersen, and Mathew Fraser took top five for the men. Tia-Clair Toomey, Kristi Eramo, Tennil Reed, Sara Sigmundsdottir, and Chyna Cho took top five for women.
