Athletes were in the dark about what they would face as the final event, but 20 minutes before they were told they would be taking on 100%.
Tasia Percevecz took the win in the second heat, but was not able to take down the time set by Helmick in the heat before. Stacie Tovar finished last in the heat, but immediately called for the medical staff after. Fortunately, it was reported that she was feeling "queasy" and was not injured.
In the final heat athletes were all within a couple of reps of each other on the box jumps. When they got to the d-ball cleans it became a matter of who could keep up the pace. Tia-Clair Toomey took the event win, followed by Brooke Wells, Alea Helmick, and Alessandra Pichelli. "Whoa. That was hard." Toomey said after the event. She will go into Sunday in first place on the leaderboard. When asked what her strategy will be going into tomorrow, "Just keep going." she said.
Katrin Davidsdottir sits 14 points behind her in second place going into Sunday. Sara Sigmundsdottir sits in third, only 18 points out of first. Samantha Briggs remains in fourth. Will the Australian be able to hold off the Icelandics in the final day?
"Honestly it's easy to find the energy. Coming down here into the tennis stadium, it's incredible." - Tasia Percevecz (when asked about how she found the energy to sprint through the workout despite how beat up their bodies are)
