2017 Reebok CrossFit Games Saturday Night Event Is An Open Repeat
Dave Castro announces the final individual event for Saturday at the 2017 CrossFit Games, and it's a repeat from the 2017 Open.
The 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games continues in Madison, Wisconsin, with one more event on Saturday night: 17.5++
10 rounds for time:
9 thrusters (135/95)
35 double unders
*12 minute time cap
The fastest women's time in the Open was 6:16 (Madison Miller) and the fastest men's time was 6:24 (Mat Fraser). I don't think we'll see the women hitting the men's time here but they may get close!
Games versions of popular CrossFit workouts aren't uncommon. For example, Double and Heavy DT, Naught Nancy, and Double Grace. This is the first time we've seen a variation of an Open workout show up in the Games.
It's not the first time we've seen a variation of a workout from earlier in the season though. In 2014, the second to last event was Thick and Quick, a reimagining of the final Regional event of that year. Both of those included pulling and overhead squats, with the Regional version testing high volume pull ups with moderate load overhead squats and the Games version testing very low volume rope climbs and heavy overhead squats.
