Kianoush Rostami, men's silver medalist in the 85kg division at the 2015 Weightlifting World Championships, just set two new World Records at the Fajr Cup IWF Grand Prix in Iran this week.

This 220kg clean & jerk set the new World Record in both the clean & jerk and the total (395kg) breaking an 18 year old clean & jerk record set by Zhang Yong (CHN) in 1998 and an eight year old World Record in the total set by Adrei Rybakou (RUS) in 2008.
At the 2015 Worlds, Rostami attempted a 219kg clean & jerk but couldn't stick it. The competition in Rio for the 85s will be intense with 2015 World Champion Artem Okulov and 2013 World Champion Apti Aukhadov representing Russia.
Thrown into the mix in Rio is Chinese phenom Tia Tao who unofficially set the same World Records as Rostami at the 2016 Chinese Nationals:
