USA Weightlifting has confirmed Pyrros Dimas will join them as the Technical Director in mid-2017.

His duties will include:

• International strategy
• Youth development
• Performance strategy
• Talent identification
• Performance funding allocation
• Coaching education
• Supporting USA Weightlifting's fundraising efforts

The 44-year-old from Greece is "widely regarded as the greatest Weightlifting athlete of all-time" (USAW). His list of Weightlifting accomplishments include:

• ​Gold medal- 1992, 1996, 2000 Olympic Games
• Bronze medal- 2004 Olympic Games
• 3 World Titles
• European Championship Title
• 11 World Records

He is a current member of the IWF Executive Board and involved with the Greek Weightlifting Federation.
