Reichardt, who opened with a 66kg snatch, entered the clean-and-jerk in fourth place. She was able to put up an 86kg clean-and-jerk on her final attempt to get ahead of Turkey's Ayse Dogan by just 1kg on her total to take third overall.
Here's her winning clean-and-jerk:
According to her coach, Dane Miller of Garage Strength, Reichardt competed fatigued from over 50 hours of travel to reach Penang. Miller told Reichardt that her final clean-and-jerk was necessary to take the podium spot and she delivered a "cake jerk" after a hard clean. Congratulations to Hayley and Team USA!
