Maurus & Cummings Vie For Gold At 2017 Youth Worlds
Harrison Maurus and CJ Cummings lead Team USA to the 2017 IWF Youth World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
The IWF Youth World Championships is underway in Bangkok, Thailand, and one of the favorites to win the 77kg title is the U.S.'s Harrison Maurus. He swept silver at the 2016 Youth World Championships in Malaysia with a 145kg snatch and 176kg clean-and-jerk for a 321kg total.

Here Maurus trains during his last heavy session before leaving to compete this week. This session consisted of a 144kg snatch and 185kg clean-and-jerk (after just recently hitting a personal-record clean-and-jerk of 187kg earlier this month).
Expectations are also high for Maurus' U.S. teammate CJ Cummings, who is the defending youth world champion at 69kg.
