Christian Lucero Injures Pec, Withdraws From Regionals
Christian Lucero has suffered a pec injury on Event 5 of Regionals and has withdrawn from competition at the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games California Regional.
The 2017 CrossFit Games Regionals have been punctuated with a series of pec injuries to some of the sports biggest stars, and we've now seen yet another athlete's run at the 2017 Games end due to injury.
Christian Lucero was in first place after two days of competition in California with two event wins to his name and was looking to keep his overall lead and qualifying position. Unfortunately, just a few reps into Event 5, Lucero dropped from the rings clutching his pec. From that point on he didn't complete another rep.
While Lucero's lead was so large he didn't need to place well in Event 5 in order to compete for a qualifying spot, he didn't meet the minimum work requirements for Event 5 and has been forced to withdraw from competition.
Stay tuned for updates.
