Real Life Hero Antonia Shanle Leaves Granite Games To Aid Hurricane Victims
CrossFit Green Bay's Antonia Shanle leaves the 2017 Kill Cliff Granite Games early to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.
CrossFit Green Bay's Antonia Shanle took a team of three to the 2017 Kill Cliff Granite Games and was primed and ready to compete in the women's pro team division. Shanle is also a member of the Wisconsin National Guard, and with Hurricane Harvey's devastation of parts of Texas, there was a chance she'd be down in the Lone Star State helping with the aftermath of the hurricane.
Just a week before the Granite Games, Shanle got the "all clear" -- and she and her teammates travelled to Minnesota and competed through the first day of competition and the first event on Day 2. Then came the news that Shanle was on call for a possible deployment.

As a servicewoman, it's Shanle's duty and responsibility to answer the call, and that's exactly what she did.

While this likely means her team cannot participate in the rest of the competition, it also means some very lucky people in Texas will be getting help from a real fit and dedicated athlete and guardswoman.
