Granite Games Qualifier (Workout 3 & 4), Week 2: No Rings, Thank God

Granite Games Qualifier (Workout 3 & 4), Week 2: No Rings, Thank God

Granite Games has released a second week of workouts, so you better get to it.

It’s time for the next workout of the Granite Games qualifier, so hopefully you submitted your scores from last week’s first workout and are ready for another grueling test. The Road to Minnesota for the 2018 Granite Games — September 7-9 in St. Cloud, Minnesota — will make a pit stop this week at the pull-up bar, dumbbell rack, and barbell, as this week’s two workouts promise to exploit any strength endurance weaknesses you may have.

Reminder: you have until Monday, June 25, at 7 PM CDT to submit your scores and videos to the Granite Games.

Although there are some clear differences, these two workouts remind me of the “Pull Push Pull” event from the 2016 Granite Games. Workout 3 and 4 incorporate muscle ups and cleans much in the same way that Event 9 did at the 2016 main event. Fortunately, there are no rings (thank God) in this week’s qualifying workout, but you do have to navigate a whole bunch of hang squat cleans that are sure to make you sore into next week.

Anyway, here’s some pro inspiration as you get ready to tackle this monster. Event 9 from the 2016 Granite Games:
