Mat Fraser once thought he was destined to become an Olympian lifter, and grade-level accolades suggested that just might happen. However, a streak of injuries and a bit of bad luck at the Olympic Training Center cut his career short. It wasn't until stumbling into a local box at his University that he started to tap into his true potential as an Elite Fitness competitor and all-around athlete. From local competition, to national competition, to eventually the world stage, Fraser found himself on the podium. When Team USA landed in Cartagena, Colombia the women had locked in three spots to Rio, but the men weren’t sitting as comfortably. They had one last opportunity at Senior Pan Ams to earn one spot, and it would take every team member (and every kilo) they had. They first needed to fight for their team, and then for themselves, and one male would earn a spot in Rio. After some unexpected performances and injuries it became Do Or Die.
