Here's the full list of events:
Event 1 - Flip & Drag
Event 2 - Squat Lift
Event 3 - Viking Press
Event 4 - Vehicle Pull
Event 5 - Deadlift
Event 6 - Atlas Stones
The three favorites going into the 2017 World's Strongest Man are the podium from 2016: Brian Shaw, Hafthor Bjornsson, and Eddie Hall. Throwing a wrench in the mix is Zydrunas Savickas who, along with Brian Shaw, is going for his fifth title.
This is the first time since 1997 that the Squat, Deadlift, and Press have been tested in World's Strongest Man. Eddie Hall is definitely the best presser and deadlifter in the world and could make a run at the squat lift if he's healthy. On top of that, Hall crushed the flip and drag event at 2017 Europe's Strongest Man, so that's four events which could swing Hall's way.
With more on the line than ever, and Shaw at his absolute best, it's going to be incredibly tough for anyone to take down the defending champ. Is this Eddie's year? Is this Thor's year? Will Big Z return from injury and earn his fifth title?
